Canadian Reggae World Association is a not-for-profit
company whose sole purpose is to promote talented Canadian
artists. The hope and goal is to sell the music that many
of the talented souls produce and continue to produce.
It has been said from time to time, the
reason why folks won’t listen to Canadian reggae
is because it isn’t very good. OK… Who am
I to argue with the individual tastes of any one or many
for that matter? But there are some like me who do not
agree. Some like me are huge fans of the talent that perform
right here.
Many artists can attest to many different
stories, journeys and disappointments. I will touch extremely
briefly on only one example right now. Leroy Brown has
produced (re-produced) an album called Color Barrier.
It is a strong piece of reggae history and hit the top
of French reggae charts (rose to # 5), behind such notables
as I-Wayne, Sean Paul and “Junior Gong” Damien
Marley. It is not just about the music. It is also a mini
biography of Leroy’s journey and an impressive packaging
job for the reggae album collector. WOW… number
5 on the charts and Canadian radio does not play this
music?
Now I am not blaming Canadian reggae radio.
I am pointing out a HUGE flaw in the system of letting
reggae fans know when important things occur in the industry
and when they can hear great reggae music by artists of
international acclaim. Leroy is one of many!
CRW is here to market the Canadian reggae
industry. There is a huge barrier blocking our progress.
We are not taken seriously by the powers that be, major
labels hence adult contemporary (mainstream) radio.
"CRW has taken on the battle. We challenge

will be broadcating live, from Canada, every Saturday
Night between, 8:00 - 10:00 pm, bringing you LOADS of
exceptional reggae music performed, produced, written
and played by Canadians and much, much more....
Spread the word massive! Canadian Reggae
is utterly awesome and truly worth our complete attention
and support. CRW continues this battle…
